Receiving an easy ball sent over without an attack. The team calls "free!", drops off the net and passes high to the setter.

- Call "free ball" loudly.
- Front-row players drop back to the attack line, ready to approach.
- Back-row players take a step forward to receive.
- Pass high and to the target so hitters have time to approach.
