What does an outside hitter do?

The outside hitter (left side) is the team’s all-rounder: attacks from position 4, passes serve with the libero, plays defence, blocks the opponent’s right side, and often attacks the pipe from the back row. They usually get the most sets — especially when the pass is bad.
