Faults at the service hit: serving out of rotation order; not executing the serve properly (toss twice, foot fault, 8-second violation).
Faults after the hit: the ball touches a player of the serving team; fails to cross the net plane completely through the crossing space; goes "out"; or passes over an individual or collective screen.
A served ball that touches the net and continues into the opponent’s court is legal.
