Court: 18 m long × 9 m wide, divided into two 9 m × 9 m halves by the centre line.
Free zone: minimum 3 m on all sides. For FIVB World and Official competitions it is at least 5 m from the sidelines and 6.5 m from the end lines.
Free playing space (obstacle-free height above the court): minimum 7 m; at least 12.5 m for FIVB World and Official competitions.
The playing surface must be flat, horizontal and uniform; FIVB competitions use wooden or synthetic surfaces.
